A word and a colon make a note smart.
Start a line with a region word and the lines under it work together until a blank line. No menus or blocks to learn. Type / on an empty line for a picker, or add your own words, like todo: for a list.
Every line calculates, with named values used on later lines.

Scrib is made for Windows 10 and 11, and there is a Linux version too, where everything but reading text from screenshots works. Not on Mac or phones for now.
Where are my notes stored?
On your computer, and nowhere else. Scrib keeps a full backup every day and holds on to the last seven. You can export one note, or all of them, as Markdown whenever you like.
Is it really free?
Yes. Scrib is free while it’s in beta, with no trial and nothing to unlock. If it ever becomes paid, the version you have keeps working.
Can I use it on more than one computer?
Yes, on as many as you like. Each computer keeps its own notes; there is no sync.
Why does Windows warn me when I install the beta?
The beta isn’t signed with a paid Microsoft certificate yet, so Windows SmartScreen says it doesn’t recognise the app. Choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
I found a bug. Where do I tell you?
Open an issue on Scrib’s GitHub page (the link is in the download section) and say what you did, what you expected, and what happened.
