Privacy Policy

The short version: your notes never leave your computer. Scrib has no account, no analytics, and no tracking. The only things that go online are listed below, and none of them include your notes.

The Scrib app

Everything you write is stored on your computer, along with Scrib's settings and daily backups. We never receive it. Scrib connects to the internet only for these things:

• Checking for updates — at launch and once a day, Scrib asks GitHub whether a newer version exists. You can turn this off in Settings. The request contains nothing about you or your notes beyond what any web request carries, such as your IP address.
• Checking a license — when you enter a license key, Scrib sends the key to Lemon Squeezy to check it, and again about once a week while you're online to confirm it hasn't been refunded. Removing a license sends the key to free that computer's slot. Only the key is sent.
• Exchange rates — only if you turn on live exchange rates, Scrib fetches daily currency rates from the free Frankfurter service. Nothing of yours is sent.

Send feedback opens a draft in your own email app with Scrib's version and your version of Windows filled in; nothing is sent until you send it. Text read from screenshots and images is recognised by Windows on your computer and never uploaded.

This website

• No cookies, analytics, or ads. We don't track visits.
• Light or dark — if you pick a look with the switch at the top of the page, your browser remembers that choice. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
• Beta sign-ups — if you join the beta, we store your email address and the date you signed up, using Cloudflare. We use it only to send you beta downloads and news about Scrib's launch, and we never sell or share it. Ask us to remove it at any time.
• Hosting — the site is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, the Merchant of Record for Scrib. Lemon Squeezy collects the details needed to take payment and send your receipt and license key, under its own privacy policy. We can see your name, email, and order in our store dashboard so we can help with your purchase, but never your card details.

Your choices

To see, correct, or delete what we hold about you — a beta sign-up or a purchase record — email support@getscrib.com. We'll answer within 30 days. Scrib isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
